Eddie Murphy & Scary Spice ...Married ???

Can you see it? I think i can.

August 2, 2006

I'm bored, Work Sucks, and my 80s internet radio station isn't playing anything good. It's not even noon yet.

Boo !

On the lighter side, KC & the Sunshine band just came on playing "I'm your boogie man". A great song but awesomely redone by Mr. Rob Zombie and then Re-redone by Mr. Zombie for the 'Super Sexy Swinging Sounds' album.

Anyway, a sad story for you. It goes like this:

Every tuesday, my roommates have this tradition of going to the Demae Sushi resturaunt because tuesdays are 1/2 off sushi. They've been going for over a year now, me thinks, and as often as I'm able, I go too. The food is not bad but it's not the greatest either, but it's worth going for the 1/2 off stuff.

Anyway, we went again last night. Since we've been going, we've noticed an increase in the amount of people that are starting to go. When I started to go, it was usually a 20 minute wait to get in and then maybe another 10-15 minutes till we got food. It wasn't bad.

Now: we waited an hour and some change just to get in and then about another 30 minutes before we got food. It sucked beyond reason !!! Almost 2 frikkin hours !!! The most sad part of this whole story is that, these people know us. Believe me, you can't miss or not notice us. Not that we are overly loud and distructive, but my roommates are always there, they talk to all the waiters and managers, and we usually have a good sized group. Regardless, they still act like we don't exist and the service still sucks. As such, we never leave tips (except once where an older Asian lady took care of us and we all really liked her because we didn't have to ask for our drinks to be filled) and it's gotten to the point where the stupid girl at the register asks us, FRiKKiN ASKS US, if we left a tip. "Did you leave a tip?" What waiter or waitress asks that !!! Maybe if we got better service, we would start leaving tips again. They know we are coming and they know who we are. You would think that they would check on us every now and then. Boo !!!!

As far as the subject of tipping is concerned, I always leave one. At the least, 15%. For outstanding service, I'm not opposed to leaving more. I understand that in many occasions, servers make crap for an hourly wage and rely on tips.

(Tangent)
One time a few years ago, I went to Chile's with some kids from the BYU mulitcultural club TMF (Tribe of Many Feathers) ((Which by the way, is probably the dumbest name for a multicultural group that I've heard yet, and I've heard of alot)). Well, as we were hanging out and about to pay the check, one of the girls refused to leave a tip (the server was excellent) because she didn't see why she had to. The whole of the argument was that "They know what they are getting into when they start this job. If they know they are not going to get much, then they shouldn't apply." How freakin' REZ is that ?!? Her argument very much resembled Mr. Pink's argument in Reservour Dogs. Regardless of the onslaught of retorts and counter arguments, she still didn't leave a tip. That girl went on to be come Miss Indian BYU. She was stupid.
(/tangent)

So now, because there are tons of people now going to Demae and the asshole staff there still suck, I'm now on a movement to find a new tuesday night hangout spot. Waiting 2 hours for mediocre sushi is not worth it.

There is a place by the University Mall called Chen's Noodle house that is pretty good and still relatively unknown. The food is good and the service is excellent. Really all I ask in service is to have my drink refilled, that all I really care about.

So Chen's is probably going to be the new place.

t(-_-t) Demae!
